Crop Drop Nov 17, 2018

Crop Drop coordinates with farmers in Florida and Mississippi that glean their fields of produce that isn’t sold to the market place and then a freight company delivers a truckload of sweet potatoes and another truckload of corn and cucumbers bringing more than 80,000 pounds of produce to Destin. Approximately 50 different agencies from our 3 local counties come through to pick up the produce which is prayed over by our prayer team. Once the produce is picked up by these area agencies they will then bring the produce back to their cities and then distribute it to the needy. An estimated 6,000 families/ 24,000 people are fed from this one event.

CROP DROP DESTIN UMC - Thrivent Financial ~ Emerald Coast Group along with the help of the Destin and surrounding Communities looked for a way to help struggling families have a good Thanksgiving meal in the Florida Panhandle.

The count down is here and Crop Drop 2018 will be here before you know it. This will be our 10th year at sorting, packing and loading of produce for food insecure community. We hope that you can join us this year.

Huddle Service Opportunity: Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan's Purse, collects shoebox gifts filled with school supplies, hygiene items and fun toys and delivers them to children in need around the world to demonstrate God's love in a tangible way. For many of these children, the gift-filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received. Delivered into the hands of children through local churches, every shoebox gift is an opportunity to share about Jesus Christ. For the past 6 years, FCA has partnered with Operation Christmas Child to offer Huddles a great opportunity to bless children and present the Gospel around the world.

Your Huddles have the opportunity to fill empty shoeboxes with school supplies, hygiene items, notes of encouragement and fun toys such as a doll or soccer ball. This is a ready-made opportunity for Huddles who are looking for a service opportunity around Thanksgiving.

For more information on how to pack a shoebox, view gift suggestions, get your "Follow Your Box" label, or find your nearest drop-off location, please visit the below link:
