Board of Directors

Chair: Shane Abbott

Shane Abbott

Hello, I am Shane Abbott, husband to wife Holley of 22 years. I have 3 children: Tanner (18), Tinsley (15), Nate (6), and several of whom I consider sons that I mentor. I graduated from University of Florida in 1998 with a pharmacy degree and am co-owner of the Prescription Place in Defuniak Springs and Niceville. The Lord has give me a passion to share Him and our family life with young men who have not had a father figure in their life. FCA is vitally important to me because it provides an opportunity for my children to have Christian fellowship in school, where society has tried to eliminate Christ.

Steven Killebrew

Steven has been a board member for Emerald Coast FCA since the fall of 2016. His ties go all the way back to when he was involved with FCA as a student at Niceville High School. Steven attended the University of Florida and was actively involved in the FCA program there also. After graduating in 2000, he returned to the Niceville area and worked at Eglin AFB with a contracting company. During that time, he also coached Junior Varsity soccer at Niceville High School. From 2002 to 2004, Steven worked for Youth For Christ as a missionary in Guinea Bissau, West Africa. Upon returning from Africa, he worked at Niceville High School as a math teacher and soccer coach from 2004-2008. During that time, Steven was the FCA sponsor for Niceville. He is now a McDonald’s Owner/Operator with the Costa Family, who together own and operate restaurants in the local and surrounding markets. Steven is passionate about the FCA program, knowing the impact it had on his life, and seeing how important it is in the lives of young students. He feels it is a crucial program to help students and athletes develop a firm foundation in their relationship with Christ so they can have an eternal impact on their friends, teammates, and classmates where they are planted now and in the future.

Kim Pennington

Kim has been a board member since the inception of Emerald Coast FCA in 2013. Kim and her husband, Brian, are members of Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Walton Beach. Through this experience she saw the importance of FCA in our schools and the impact it will make on these students for the rest of their lives.
